Designed for aging in place, this straw house creates a peaceful and joyful connection to its surroundings. Built by Build with Nature, the home features charred Shou Sugi Ban wood siding on the exterior and clay plaster interiors. The simple two-bedroom layout frames views of a beautiful creek, once the site of a historic factory mill. Remnants of the original eight-story mill’s stone walls remain, creating a meaningful connection between the new home and the history of the land. This house is currently under construction. Completed project photos will be added soon.
